Anthropic has publicly filed its initial public offering (IPO) documents, moving one step closer to becoming the first publicly traded company whose primary business is developing the most advanced artificial intelligence models.

According to a filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday, the developer of the Claude model expects to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT. Anthropic had already filed its draft IPO registration documents confidentially in June.

The filing shows that Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are leading the IPO underwriting, with 20 other banks also participating. Anthropic and some of its shareholders will sell shares in the IPO, with the specific number to be disclosed in subsequent filings.

The documents show that Anthropic generated revenue of $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, with a net loss of $80.7 billion; in the same period last year, revenue was $1.2 billion and net loss was $13 billion.

Anthropic focuses primarily on the enterprise market. According to the filing, the company's net revenue retention rate stands at 900%, a metric that reflects the company's ability to retain existing customers and drive them to increase their spending continuously.

The company said that 79% of its third-quarter revenue came from customers other than its top five clients.

As AI companies invest hundreds of billions of dollars to continue advancing so-called frontier models, Anthropic is seeking to leverage the abundant financing capacity of the public markets to maintain its leading position relative to competitors.
