The Federal Reserve is anticipated to announce its next round of reserve management purchases on Thursday, continuing its scheduled Treasury bill acquisitions. This move is designed to bolster reserves as liquidity is expected to decrease over the coming months.
Strategists at institutions such as Barclays and Deutsche Bank project that the Fed will purchase $10 billion in Treasury bills, in addition to its reinvestment purchases of maturing securities. Meanwhile, Bank of America suggests the Fed could increase its reserve management purchase volume to $15 billion to offset potential funding pressures from rising supply, though it remains highly likely that the current pace will be maintained at least until mid-September.
