According to sources familiar with the matter, Edward Liu is leaving his role as Vice Chairman of Technology and Global Head of Software at Bank of America to join Deutsche Bank as Global Head of TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom).
The report indicates that Edward Liu will officially join Deutsche Bank in November 2026, based in New York, USA, reporting to Alison Harding-Jones, Co-Head of the Investment Bank and Global Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank.
A Deutsche Bank spokesperson declined to comment on the matter. The bank has previously stated its commitment to strategic talent acquisition to strengthen its long-term development.
The report also notes that Edward Liu is one of four senior Bank of America executives who have departed in the past week. On Thursday, Bank of America officially announced the departure of Co-Head of Investment Banking Mike Joo. On Wednesday, JPMorgan announced the hiring of Amy Lissauer to lead shareholder relations and shareholder protection. On Monday, Citigroup hired Rohan Sen to lead client coverage in the technology services sector.
