Mark Walter is seeking to sell the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks for more than $700 million, including a related practice facility, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The asking price would exceed the WNBA's current franchise sale record of $300 million. Sportico values the Sparks at $400 million, while the team's new $150 million practice facility is scheduled to open before the 2027 season, the report said.
Walter's potential sale follows his disposal of the Los Angeles Lakers and his stake in Chelsea FC, Bloomberg reported. The Sparks, one of the WNBA's original eight teams, finished the season 16-28 and missed the playoffs for a sixth consecutive year.
Mark Walter did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
