Twenty U.S. stocks with market caps above $10 billion are trading at fresh all-time highs as of August 7, 2026. The top 10 span money-center and regional banking, AI-driven cybersecurity, aerospace & defense manufacturing, cystic fibrosis and oncology biopharma, wearable technology, industrial distribution, and molecular diagnostics—a cross-section pointing to bank earnings strength, cybersecurity demand re-rating on AI-era threats, and biotech pipeline catalysts as the market's current momentum drivers.
The top 10 tickers leading this cohort - $Bank of America(BAC)$, $Palo Alto Networks(PANW)$, $RTX Corp(RTX)$, $CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.(CRWD)$, $Charles Schwab(SCHW)$, $Vertex Pharmaceuticals(VRTX)$, $Garmin(GRMN)$, $Fastenal(FAST)$, $Natera(NTRA)$, $Revolution Medicines, Inc.(RVMD)$
Financials leading the breakout: Big banks and brokers are setting the pace for the current wave of all-time highs, with $Bank of America(BAC)$ and $Charles Schwab(SCHW)$ both riding record quarterly results into fresh highs. Strong trading and investment-banking revenue, alongside a structural pickup in retail engagement, is reshaping how the Street values consumer-facing financial franchises.
Cybersecurity re-rates on AI-driven demand: $Palo Alto Networks(PANW)$ and $CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.(CRWD)$ are being repriced as AI both threatens and defends enterprise networks. Palo Alto's CyberArk-fueled ARR acceleration and CrowdStrike's platform consolidation story are drawing some of the sharpest price-target increases in the market.
Defense and industrial backlogs hit records: $RTX Corp(RTX)$ posted a record $289 billion backlog on surging commercial aftermarket and defense demand, while $Fastenal(FAST)$ continues to show durable industrial distribution growth even with margin headwinds from tariffs and mix.
Biotech and diagnostics inflect on pipeline catalysts: $Vertex Pharmaceuticals(VRTX)$, $Natera(NTRA)$, and $Revolution Medicines, Inc.(RVMD)$ are each hitting highs on distinct but reinforcing stories — Vertex's non-CF product ramp, Natera's record testing volumes, and Revolution Medicines' regulatory momentum for daraxonrasib — underscoring how idiosyncratic clinical and commercial catalysts are driving healthcare outperformance even as the broader market grinds higher.

I'd buy RVMD as MERCK is in discussion to acquire the company as per the FT report.
This cybersecurity re-rating is also likely due for a pullback.
Among the names, PANW would be my top pick. Its platform-consolidation strategy, strong ARR growth and exposure to multiple areas of enterprise security give it a compelling long-term setup. CRWD is also attractive, especially with its strong platform ecosystem and recurring revenue model.
That said, both stocks have already rerated significantly, so I wouldn’t blindly chase new highs. I think cybersecurity still has legs, but the next phase will need to be supported by earnings, cash flow and sustainable growth—not just the AI story.
For me, PANW on a meaningful pullback would be one of the more interesting opportunities on this list.
