$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$  $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ $GraniteShares 2x Long AMD Daily ETF(AMDL)$ Baird analyst Tristan Gerra's $1250 price target on AMD was the first truly aggressive upgrade on the Street. The target looks extreme compared to current consensus estimates, but it's not as implausible as many investors assume, especially given how fast the AI compute landscape is evolving.

Gerra's thesis rests on AMD leveraging its growing leadership in both AI CPUs and GPUs to capture roughly 15% of a projected $1.4 trillion AI compute TAM by 2030. Under that framework, AMD's earnings power could expand dramatically, with EPS exceeding $50 per share by the end of the decade.

Gerra isn't the only one modeling this kind of earnings growth. Piper Sandler has AMD's EPS compounding at roughly 65% annually, reaching the low-$50 range by 2030.
