Hey Tigers! 🐯

We are now past the halfway point of the Q3 earnings season — and the beat machine is running hot. According to LSEG data cited by Chinese media, 83% of S&P 500 companies that have reported so far beat earnings estimates . FactSet puts the EPS beat rate at 83% and the revenue beat rate at 66%, with blended earnings growth accelerating to +29.5% and revenue growth of +12.7%.

But here is the twist the headlines miss: beating is no longer enough to move a stock. This season, analysts are already calling it "beat estimates, lose ground": one tracker found 86% of reporters beat, while guidance — not the beat itself — is now the real price driver.

So the real question for the rest of this week — with $Microsoft(MSFT)$, $Alphabet(GOOGL)$, $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ and the Fed all on the calendar — is not "who beat?" but "whose beat will the market actually pay for?" Below: the full scorecard, the biggest EPS surprises, and my editorial price scenarios for 11 names. All outlooks are scenarios for discussion — not investment advice.

📌 Key Takeaways

🏦 1. The Beat Scorecard: Who Beat, by How Much

Sources: company releases; consensus via FactSet / LSEG / Zacks ([1][4][5]). Prices: Wind / THS, Oct 27, 2026 close ([9–16]).

Also beat (not scored above): $$M$$ — Micron's fiscal Q4 (calendar Q3) came in with EPS $33.42 vs $3.03 a year ago, a record print with revenue, gross margin and next-quarter guidance all above estimates; $$UP$$ beat and rallied +5.75% on 10/27; $SoFi Technologies Inc.(SOFI)$ beat and raised guidance, +13.42%; $Coca-Cola(KO)$ beat revenue and raised FY outlook (stock -1.64%); $Royal Caribbean Cruises(RCL)$ raised its full-year profit outlook (+5.46%).

📊 2. How Big Were the Surprises?

Ranked by EPS surprise vs consensus among confirmed reporters. Note the pattern: the biggest surprises came from financials and cyclicals, while the index's headline growth is still dominated by the AI names.

Market breadth is quietly improving underneath: around 60% of S&P 500 stocks now sit above their 200-day average, up from ~40% a few weeks ago, and earnings have stayed resilient through the rotation. The tape is broadening — even if the "beat and drop" pattern keeps confusing single-stock traders.

🚀 3. Price Outlook: Where These Beats Could Take the Stock

Scenario framework below is editorial: Bull = beat fully priced in + guidance momentum & a supportive tape; Base = most-likely 3–6 month path; Bear = the risk case (valuation reset, AI-capex slippage, macro shock). Anchored on 10/27 closes.

Editorial scenarios by WallStreet_Tiger · levels rounded · prices as of 10/27 close ([9–16]).

⚠️ 4. The Misses & What's Next

Not everyone got a beat — and the punishment is real. The worst offenders this season:

📅 The earnings & macro calendar that matters

  • Oct 28 (after hours): $Microsoft(MSFT)$ & $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ — the AI capex test. If both guide higher spend with visible cloud/AI revenue, the AI trade resumes; if not, expect more "beat and drop."

  • Oct 29: $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ — AWS growth is the swing factor.

  • Nov 2: $Apple(AAPL)$ — services + China demand.

  • Mid-Nov: $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ — the single most important print left; after Micron's record quarter, expectations are very high.

  • FOMC Oct 28–29: market widely expects a hold; with WTI crude around $99.90, the long end of the curve stays sticky.

Good information. I am monitoring META. Not sure if to add more position to hold on to the current holdings of average cost $590. Long term wise, can continue to keep. Will make some covered calls at $750 range to earn some income.

The key takeaway this earnings season is that the market is shifting from rewarding growth to demanding sustainable returns.

My pick is $SoFi Technologies (SOFI). Its Q3 revenue surged 44% year over year to $1.39 billion, while management raised its 2026 outlook and introduced an ambitious 2027 earnings target. Its expanding fee-based revenue also suggests a more diversified business model.

However, strong execution doesn't automatically mean an attractive valuation. Investors must watch credit quality, loan losses, funding costs, and whether customer growth translates into durable cash flow.

Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley offer established business models, but SoFi has greater potential for a growth-driven re-rating if execution continues.

My conclusion: I favour SoFi for its growth potential, but position sizing matters. The real winner isn't the company that beats estimates—it's the one that keeps exceeding expectations without sacrificing profitability.

My pick is $SoFi Technologies Inc.(SOFI)$ SOFI! 🚀
I like its growth potential and the possibility of a valuation re-rating as the business continues to scale. If revenue growth and profitability keep improving, I think SOFI could have meaningful upside. Of course, execution and valuation risks remain, but I’m backing the growth story. 📈

low key rooting for SOFI because it feels like it has more upside compared to GS and MS, but its just my personal take.
