Waymo is partnering with AMD, Micron Technology, NVIDIA, Samsung, SanDisk Corp., Socionext and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing to develop autonomous driving compute systems.
Waymo launched a 5nm ASIC purpose-built for autonomous-driving compute to handle real-time sensor data. The custom chip delivers over 1,000 TOPS of machine‑learning performance for front-end processing.
