The U.S. major indexes closed as follows: Dow Jones up 1.71% at 54,085.88; S&P 500 up 1.79% at 7,736.52; NASDAQ up 2.59% at 26,584.99. A broad risk-on mood, underpinned by easing geopolitical tensions and upbeat corporate earnings, helped all three gauges finish comfortably higher.

Semiconductors and AI plays topped the unusual-move board. Palantir Technologies (PLTR) jumped 29.45% to $162.66 after blockbuster results, while optical-network firm Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) soared 19.44% to $131.63. Memory giant Micron Technology (MU) climbed 7.62% to $892.67; peers AMD (AMD) added 7.00% to $518.58 and NVIDIA (NVDA) rose 2.56% to $211.94, as data-center demand stayed hot. Legacy chipmaker Intel (INTC) advanced 10.84% to $100.86, and Marvell Technology (MRVL) gained 12.81% to $218.59. Outside chips, Apple (AAPL) firmed 1.96% to $309.38, and Tesla (TSLA) edged up 1.64% to $327.35, underscoring renewed strength across the tech complex.

Leveraged ETFs amplified the day’s moves. The bullish Direxion Daily Semiconductors 3× (SOXL) rallied 19.87% to $139.90, while its bearish counterpart SOXS fell 20.25% to $42.33. Broader tech exposure was in demand too, with Invesco QQQ (QQQ) up 3.40% at $723.85 and ProShares UltraPro QQQ (TQQQ) up 10.09% at $74.82, reflecting aggressive positioning for further gains.

1. Palantir’s revenue nearly doubled, sparking a 30% share surge. The data-analytics firm also raised full-year guidance, citing “unleashed” demand for AI sovereignty solutions. CEO Alex Karp called the latest quarter’s performance “otherworldly,” reinforcing confidence in sustained growth.

2. Arista Networks delivered a 38% jump in quarterly sales on AI-driven networking demand. Adjusted EPS reached $1.02, beating estimates, and the company guided above consensus for the next quarter. Shares rallied about 13% in late trading, pushing the market cap past $250 billion.

3. AMD projected third-quarter revenue around $13 billion, topping forecasts, yet its stock slipped 9% on lofty expectations.
