President Donald Trump announced on August 18 the nomination of Trevor Pemberton to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Pemberton has a long career as a public servant, including serving as a district judge for Oklahoma County, an appellate judge on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, and general counsel to the governor. He holds a J.D. from Oklahoma City University and a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma.
In the announcement, Trump highlighted his electoral success in Oklahoma, stating, "I won Oklahoma all three times, with the Highest Vote Total ever recorded in the State’s History, and all 77 out of 77 Counties — SO OBVIOUSLY, I LOVE OKLAHOMA!" He expressed confidence that Pemberton "will be a Strong Defender of the Constitutional Rights of all Oklahomans." The nomination awaits Senate confirmation.
