President Donald Trump announced on August 19 that the United States will launch the 'MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY' against Iran, escalating economic warfare and isolation on an unprecedented scale.
In a statement on social media platform X, Trump declared that Iran 'failed to take' the opportunity he offered to make a deal. He described the current state of Iran as 'their navy is gone, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are now rubble, their currency is worthless, and their country is hanging by a thread.'
Trump also warned that any country providing financial, business, airport, or government lifelines to Iran 'will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences.' He specifically called for an end to 'oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies' and demanded that all allies 'stand with the United States of America to isolate, and defeat, the Iran threat.'
Calling the measures an 'ECONOMIC D-DAY,' Trump asserted that these 'HISTORIC MEASURES will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide.' He concluded with a firm statement: 'IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.'
