The Trump administration will impose 50% tariffs on additional Canadian imports, including wooden coffins and canoes, starting Oct. 30, while removing duties on some other products, Bloomberg reported Friday.
Other products facing the tariffs include archery equipment, skewers, candy sticks and ice cream sticks, carpets, cocoa powder, shampoos, chest freezers and window air conditioners, the report said. Certain yacht and boat parts, paints, valves and textile floor coverings are also included.
The administration is replacing tariffs imposed under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 with duties on dozens of additional items, Bloomberg reported.
Some Canadian plywood, bleached paper, cartons and specialized agricultural machinery will be exempted from the tariffs, the report said.
