The Australian Government appointed Tony Chappel as the new CEO of the Clean Energy Regulator.

The Australian Government appointed Tony Chappel as chief executive of the Clean Energy Regulator to lead climate policy administration.
Chappel succeeds David Parker, who has led the federal agency since 2017.
"Chappel's appointment comes at a pivotal time, with the Clean Energy Regulator’s work central to Australia's energy transformation," said Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen.
In his role, Chappel will administer the Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme and the Cheaper Home Batteries Programme.
Following the announcement, the Clean Energy Regulator remains an unlisted statutory authority without public shares.
Chappel previously served as chief executive officer of the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority.
He also held senior executive roles across legal and risk at the Australian Energy Market Operator.
