Singapore shares opened lower across the board on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index dipping 0.07%. $AEM SGD(AWX.SI)$ and UOL advanced more than 1% each, DBS rose 0.3%, while JMH USD declined 1.6%.
Stocks in Focus
The following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Wednesday (Aug 12):
$CapLand IntCom T(C38U.SI)$: The trust on Wednesday posted a distribution per unit (DPU) of S$0.0602 for its first half ended Jun 30, up 7.1 per cent year-on-year. The DPU growth was supported by stronger operating performance and lower interest expenses, and achieved despite an enlarged unit base following a private placement in April. Distributable income for H1 grew 13.3 per cent to S$466.7 million, while net property income rose 8.7 per cent to S$630.5 million. Units of CICT rose 2 per cent to close S$0.05 higher at S$2.51 on Tuesday.
$Frasers Property(TQ5.SI)$: The company will ask shareholders to approve a proposed optimisation of Frasers Hospitality Trust’s portfolio at an extraordinary general meeting on Aug 28. It is part of the group’s plan to unlock capital from stabilised assets while fine-tuning its hospitality strategy. Frasers Property’s business update also noted that its unrecognised residential revenue across Singapore, Australia, Thailand and China stood at about S$1 billion as at end-June, down from S$1.4 billion a year prior. Shares of Frasers Property ended flat at S$1.05 before the news.
$CapitaLandInvest(9CI.SI)$: Banking veteran Hsieh Fu Hua has been appointed deputy chairman and non-executive independent director of the company, effective Wednesday. The 75-year-old will also serve as a member of CLI’s executive and sustainability, executive resource and compensation, and nominating committees. The board will have 12 directors after Hsieh’s appointment, nine of whom are independent. CLI shares closed up 1.1 per cent or S$0.03 at S$2.72 before the news.
$YZJ Maritime(8YZ.SI)$: The group on Tuesday reported a 29 per cent dip in net profit to US$44.9 million for the first half ended Jun 30, 2026, from US$63.5 million in the year-ago period. Earnings were dragged by higher operating expenses associated with expanding its maritime fund assets, as well as foreign exchange losses. The counter ended at S$0.645, up 4 per cent or S$0.025, before the release of the results.
$SingaporeLandGrp(U06.SI)$: The property developer on Tuesday posted a net profit of S$211.7 million for the first half ended Jun 30, a jump of 90 per cent from S$111.4 million in the same year-ago period. This was due to higher fair value gains on investment properties and stronger contributions from associates. Revenue for H1 was up 2 per cent at S$376.8 million, compared with S$368.3 million a year before. The group’s shares ended 0.6 per cent or S$0.02 down at S$3.45 on Tuesday prior to the release of the results.
