Entry Strategy: 5-Step Confirmation

A good entry is not about chasing price after a move has already started.

The goal is to wait for price to reach an important level, confirm that buyers are stepping in, and then enter with clearly defined risk.

This five-step process keeps the setup simple and gives you a structured way to approach short-term trades on the 1-minute chart.

1. Wait for the Setup

The first step is to identify a meaningful support or demand zone. Wait for price to pull back into that area rather than entering while price is extended. The level should be one you have already identified before the trade begins.

2. Watch the Reaction

Once price reaches support, look for evidence that sellers are losing control. A bullish rejection candle with a long lower wick or a strong close can show that buyers are defending the level. This is an early signal, but it is not the entry yet.

3. Wait for Confirmation

The next candle provides the confirmation. Ideally, a strong bullish candle closes above the high of the previous bearish candle. This suggests that buyers have regained short-term control and reduces the risk of entering solely on the first reaction.

4. Execute the Trade

After the confirmation candle closes, enter at the open of the following 1-minute candle. Waiting for the candle to close helps avoid reacting to a temporary intrabar move and keeps the entry tied to a defined confirmation signal.

5. Define Risk Before Entering

Risk management should be decided before the trade is opened. Place the stop loss below the support zone or the most recent swing low, where the setup would be considered invalid. Set the profit target at the next resistance level or another clearly defined key price area.

The main idea is simple: level first, reaction second, confirmation third, entry fourth, risk management throughout. Not every setup will work, and there is no need to force a trade when the conditions are unclear. The best trades come from waiting for price to reach your level and allowing the market to confirm the setup before putting capital at risk.
