Northern Star Resources books $1.7B in FY26 profit

Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) reported a 24% annual profit increase to $1.7 billion.

The result contrasts with previous periods by delivering a 26% underlying profit increase to $1.8 billion.

Cash earnings reached $2.9 billion, up 1% year over year, while underlying EBITDA came to $4.3 billion.

“We have a strong track record of disciplined capital allocation, supported by an investment-grade balance sheet, and have returned $3.3 billion of cumulative capital management to shareholders to date,” said Northern Star Managing Director Stuart Tonkin.

The company stated that future group capital investment is expected to reach $2.55 billion to $2.94 billion.

Following the announcement, the Northern Star share price was up at $22.54 as management prepares for future operational expansion.

For FY27, group gold production is expected to be around 1,500-1,650koz at an AISC of $3,050-3,450/oz. September quarter production is forecast to be approximately 350koz gold sold.

The company’s board declared a final fully franked dividend of 30 cents per share, bringing the total dividend to 55 cents per share.

The business recently progressed a $500 million on-market share buyback programme to enhance long-term portfolio value.

The disciplined capital allocation strategy has previously returned $3.3 billion of cumulative capital management to existing shareholders.
