Medibank reported a 2.9% rise in underlying net profit to $636.8 million for 2026.

The company increased its ordinary dividend by 6.7% to 19.2 cents per share.

Medibank Private (ASX:MPL) reported an underlying net profit of $636.8 million for the 2026 financial year. EPS came to 23.1 cents.
The result represents a 2.9% earnings increase compared to the same period last year.
Operating profit went up 27.4% to $107.3 million with strong organic growth across all segments.
Group operating profit was up 6.7% to $813.5 million, with solid growth in resident health insurance, continued strong momentum in Medibank Health and well controlled corporate costs, while net investment income was down to $28.9 million, including a $7 million reduction in both the growth and defensive portfolios.
"We also delivered a further $10 million in productivity savings, bringing the total to $132.4 million in under a decade. Our claims payout ratio also remains above the industry average," said Medibank CEO David Koczkar.
The business recorded $6.9 billion in total paid claims while adding 22,100 net resident policyholders.
For FY27, the company expects resident PHI gross margin to be broadly consistent with FY26.
Following the announcement, the Medibank share price was down at $5.03.
The company declared a final fully franked ordinary dividend of 10.9 cents per share, bringing the total FY26 dividend to 19.2 cents per share.
The insurer stated its Amplar Health division is expanding to provide more virtual patient appointments.
