AI Stories: Which is the Golden Ring You Pick Up?
Hello everyone! Today i want to share some trading ideas with you!
1
$Intel(INTC)$ CEO Lip Bu Tan says memory prices are up 5x to 7x and the shortage could get even worse in 2027 with memory now ~75% of the cost of some lower end phones and laptops.
That lines up with $SK hynix(SKHY)$ which says 2027 could be the industry’s worst supply year.
2
ERCOT is forecasting Texas electricity demand rising doubling to 145 GW by 2031 which is about ~10 GW per year so meeting that demand requires a lot more power at every step of the chain:
• $Vistra Energy Corp.(VST)$ monetizes generation thats already operating and connected to the Texas grid
• $GE Vernova Inc.(GEV)$ supplies gas turbines needed to bring new generation online
• $Bloom Energy Corp(BE)$ brings power directly onsite when data centers cannot wait for grid connections
• $Vertiv Holdings LLC(VRT)$ handles power and cooling infrastructure once that electricity reaches data center
Essentially every new gigawatt creates another opportunity across generation, grid access and infrastructure inside the data center.
3
$SpaceX(SPCX)$ is exploring buying distressed startup data to train Grok as it looks beyond X for more specialized datasets.
At the same time Grok is expected to train on SpaceX’s own internal data with Elon Musk telling employees “It’ll be trained on you.”
4
$IREN Ltd(IREN)$ doesn't need dramatically more capacity for the 2027 opportunity to get much bigger because higher pricing alone can really change the value of the ~450 MW its already building:
• At $10/W, JPMorgan estimates NPV at negative $6.2B
• At $15/W, NPV rises to $2.6B
• At $20/W, NPV jumps to $11.3B
Management says its already discussing deals near $25/W which is why pricing could ultimately be the much bigger upside lever than capacity.
5
$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ is reportedly preparing to raise chip prices by ~10% as higher
$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ wafer costs flow through to customers.
The increases are expected to hit AI accelerators and consumer GPUs starting in Q4 as advanced node manufacturing gets more expensive.
