$Micron Technology(MU)$ Quick look at how the top 20 Nasdaq names are moving so far. MU and SPCX are leading the gains, while CSCO and MSFT are leading the declines. QQQ is also in focus.
$Micron Technology(MU)$ MU just announced a new advanced chip with 512 GB DDR5 for next-generation platform servers. It will be available next year, and two companies are already checking it out. New facilities will manufacture this advanced chip, possibly in Idaho, Virginia, Clay NY, or Hiroshima, Japan. All will have big capabilities. A new facility was also just announced in India for overseas development and sales, while US facilities will sell to US companies. Demand will add to the 200% demand growth. We should see some action begin on Monday as we roll into the September 30 earnings day. I'm bullish on MU and want to see the momentum continue.
The tight consolidation span in the AI trade is bound to break soon, and despite the period of seasonal volatility for stocks being on our doorstep, we have a bias to expect the break to be to the upside. Take $Micron Technology(MU)$ for example. The stock has been gyrating between $900 and $1000 for months, but with momentum indicators moving higher from July lows, the Bollinger Band width back to multi-year lows, performance relative to the market regaining a positive slope, a fundamentally strong backdrop, and the period of seasonal strength for the stock upon us, there are more signals to bet for a breakout than a breakdown. $VanEck Semiconductor ETF(SMH)$
If I had to pick two people at the frontline of technology, it would be Jensen Huang and Sanjay Mehrotra. There's probably no other company besides $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ or $Micron Technology(MU)$ where I genuinely feel comfort and confidence through their CEOs.
$Vertical Data Inc.(VDTA)$ A $192 million AI infrastructure commitment has been announced. It includes 1,024 NVIDIA B300 Blackwell Ultra GPUs, a binding take-or-pay structure, and a global AI developer, with a targeted launch in Q1 2027. The float is only around 5.9M. AI infrastructure money is getting real.
$Avnet(AVT)$ I have to laugh at how overdone this pullback is. It is down by a larger percentage than MU. That feels like a joke, and at the same time it looks like a real opportunity to get into this undervalued name.
$Micron Technology(MU)$ For shorts and sellers, every major company including the Magnificent 7 has already committed and raised billions for AI infrastructure. Nothing is going to change that.
$Micron Technology(MU)$ In my view, MU looks like a gold mine. I'm long on MU and I plan to keep holding it for the long term. The overall trend has been pushing MU's price up significantly, and I think it could break its 52-week high in the near future.
$Netlist, Inc.(NLST)$ Something worth noting from the 912 arguments: even $Micron Technology(MU)$ 's attorney said the PTAB's actions were, and I quote, "Improper." She actually said "everyone agrees that was improper" to use the internet from an outside source to invalidate the 912.
$Micron Technology(MU)$ $SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$ Apple is holding its annual fall keynote, "Surprise and Shine," today, September 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT. This one marks the debut of new CEO John Ternus and the highly anticipated reveal of Apple's first foldable iPhone. Curious to see if they mention memory.
$Micron Technology(MU)$ There is a lot more to the Micron story than just today's share price and where it goes next week. Their pipeline and backlog of business and contracts through 2030 show the strength of this cash machine and the small group of suppliers coming online. Micron is an American story, with strong backing behind it. I don't think Apple will be using Chinese memory at scale anytime soon, unless they want to pay millions in tariffs and wipe out any savings. New foundry or competition coming anytime soon? Nope.
