$Western Digital(WDC)$ This stock definitely needs patience. Computer memory isn't going anywhere in the near future with this much demand and shortages. There will be other competitors, but make no mistake, getting out now could mean missing it. Once it starts jumping, the next stop could be around $500, and maybe beyond for long-term investors. Just my 2 cents.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ What does WDC have to do with rising interest rates? Nothing, because they have a lot of cash and will earn much more over the next two, maybe three years.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ If I see the same situation across all major data storage stocks, there is nothing specifically wrong with WDC. The segment is under pressure due to panic, or due to a sell-off from whoever is still holding longer than 6 months. I still say 20th 453, however this one will slowly move somewhere close to 320-340, after that we will see, but this will happen to the whole segment.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ I'm perfectly okay with this hitting 350 this week. We're in the early stages of memory demand. WDC cannot keep up with the orders. More contracts are in the works. High revenue and profits. This is not a broken company. Just a lot of noise.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Yes, let's print. Institutional floor for funds looks like 350-370. For me, the range today is 360-370. Possible liquidity sweep below at 350-360 to hit your stop loss. Scalping the range today.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Holding steady and not selling. I've heard people say WDC and STX have no protection or no moat around them, but that's just not how I see it. The best moat here is that this is a duopoly. Even if Toshiba manages to buy TDK and eventually starts selling storage, it's still a duopoly. This price drop is nothing more than a far more attractive PE ratio. At these prices it's a value play with no end in sight for the buildout. I'm not happy it's down, very unhappy, but I'm not selling.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ The analyst follows the stock or the stock follows the analyst? Microsoft got downgraded by nearly every analyst in July and Sept. 26, and now they've started upgrading it after a 40%+ rally in a short span. So are analysts independent, manipulated, or just doing their homework properly? Same will be the case for WDC.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Momentum investors loved Western Digital and drove the stock price above six hundred dollars. Now a substandard investment firm lowers its guidance on this powerhouse HDD company, and I'm supposed to run for the exits?
$Western Digital(WDC)$ I think the demand is real, but the stock is getting punished. If underlying demand is actually there, then at current levels it looks undervalued.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Every week there's another "this is the real test" headline. It isn't a test. It's manipulation. Most of those headlines don't hold up if you actually look into them.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ The headline is ridiculous and the same overreaction keeps repeating. People sell off immediately as if it's the end of the world. Nothing has changed fundamentally. Whatever that Chinese AI model was that supposedly wrecked AI names again, we haven't heard much about it since, have we.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ Another story that looks designed to push WDC and other names lower and shake out retail. China's CXMT announced "key progress" on a chip structure that Samsung and SK Hynix are also pursuing. The CXMT news has zero fundamental impact on Western Digital, yet the stock dropped 2% at the open, which conveniently hits stop losses. WDC is an HDD company. CXMT makes DRAM. WDC does not make DRAM. HDD production for the rest of 2026 is already 100% sold out. So in short, thanks for the extra dip.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ The stock is consolidating. The whole tech sector was down hard, and this one only dropped seven points. That's not a big deal. It's coiled up like a spring and should shoot higher on October 16.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ WDC didn't drop as much as STX today, so that feels like a good sign. I think WDC offers better upside potential at this low level.
$Western Digital(WDC)$ I think the market is mis-pricing this now by at least -28%, but since it's all algo driven, the trading machines could make another dive to the 380 level for a flush out. If that happens, I'd be ready to buy with both hands. Last earnings call beat all estimates and their forward guidance remains rosy, with no slowdown in demand other than the fear-monger news that Toshiba could produce more low-quality HDDs in 2-3 years away. Forward PE will be compressed to 10-12x. At the enterprise level, including multinationals that run their own data centers, we do not buy Toshiba made drives now because of their high failure rate. Toshiba used to be good, but they are really bad now. Only STX and WD make the call in quality enter
